Harran University, Istanbul University and universities and non-governmental organizations in Portugal, Poland and Norway held a conference in Istanbul for the “Drug Abuse Prevention for Youth” (DAPY) Information Meeting.
Prof. from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Instructor Member Murat Coşkun made a presentation titled “Addiction in the Context of Risk and Protective Factors”. In the presentation, Coşkun talked about the risk factors that addicted individuals have and will have, and also gave information about the protective factors. While he evaluated concepts such as genetic factors, psychiatric disorders, low self-perception as risk factors, he stated that concepts such as anger control, problem solving, belief and healthy living habits were protective factors.
